Music education technology pioneers MusicFirst announced the expansion of its sales team with the addition of renowned educator Dr. Keith Dye, joining the company as Southern Account Manager.

In his new role, Dr. Dye will be managing all of MusicFirst’s customers in Texas, one of the largest markets for the company’s software solutions, and will advocate for the adoption of its platform in band, chorus and orchestra programs across the state.

Dr. Dye is the Associate Dean of Undergraduate and Curricular Issues for the College of Visual and Performing Arts, and is also a professor of music education in the School of Music at Texas Tech University.

He is the current President of the Texas Music Education Association (TMEA), the world’s largest music education organization with over 12,000 members. In this capacity he serves on the Executive Board of TMEA, and contributes a monthly column to Southwestern Musician.

He holds a Doctorate of Education in College Teaching of Music from Columbia University’s Teachers College; a Master of Arts in Music Education from West Texas State University; and a Bachelor of Music Education from Morningside College.
